Feast or Famine!!!

Okay, so we all know that with me it is feast or famine when it comes to blogging. (Actually I find that is how a lot of my life is) Anyway, I do have a good excuse for not blogging... our computer is crazy. It will not let me download any more pictures on it. So we did just put all of my pictures on CDs and also onto the kid's computer so hopefully I will be able to catch up soon. It does seem like life has been crazy, so time for blogging has not been found. Then again, aren't all of our lives crazy?! Hope to be blogging with pictures again soon!

Ky's First Day of School

Kyson started school this past Monday. The day starts with him telling me that he is not going to let me take pictures of him. "Come on mom!!!"
He is so independent when it comes to school. I walked him to the playground to line up on his "dot". He told me that I didn't have to, but of course I needed to do it for me. Then when it was time for him to walk to class he was eager to go. I have to admit that it has been weird having him gone all day. It is a LONG day! Kyson has actually missed his free time to "play". But I think he is really going to enjoy this year.

I am learning that it doesn't take long for kids to get embarrassed by mom...
Kyson took cold lunch only 2 times this week (luckily he is still young enough to get excited about eating hot lunch :) ). Anyway, the 2nd time he took lunch he didn't pack a drink because he likes to get milk from the lunchroom. However, you have to take a quarter to buy milk, but unfortunaltely he forgot his quarter to buy his milk and I did not have one bit of change with me. So, I told him that I would bring it back for him so he would be sure to have a drink for lunch. I put it in an envelope and of course had to add a cute little note from mom. Later that night I am asking him if he got my note. To which he responds, "Yeah mom, but I had to hide it from everyone else to read it." I asked him why, and he says, "Because you just can't let your friends see things like that." Oh, my heart!!! He is honestly such a fun boy to have around! I love seeing him grow!

This is the best smile I could get from him for the camera all day!!!

Funny Conversations!

Today I am in the kitchen with Tylee and the following conversation takes place...
Mom: "Tylee, will you please move that stool? I have got to sweep this floor."
Tylee: "Mom, you sound just like Cinderella! She always has to sweep the floor!"
Mom: "Oh, is that right?"
Tylee: "Looks like your favorite princess today is Cinderella! It must be one of those cleaning days!"

Then later on we were walking some eggs to my friend Ana's house. Tylee was on her bike and wanted me to race her. So I start running after her. She suddenly comes to a stop and turns to me and says, "Mom, did you have one of your energy drinks this morning?" I say, "no, why?" Tylee replys, "Because you sure are doing a good job at keeping up with me today!"

I love my kids! They bring so much joy to my life!

Happy 4th Birthday Tylee LaRae!!!

I absolutely cannot believe that Tylee is 4 years old! She turned 4 on August 23rd. When I was a little girl I would think about what it would be like to be a mom when I "grew up". Of course I would picture having my own little girl one day (it was always girls and I think that is because I always had little girl dolls). Anyway, I have been blessed to have the daughter of my dreams! In fact I now have 2 of them. But today I am thinking of Tylee and her special spirit. Tylee is everything I ever wanted in a daughter. She is so full of personality! She is tender hearted and loves to be cuddled by mom. She has always been my little "angel" from heaven. My Heavenly Father knew that I needed her in my life at the time she was born. And even as an infant Tylee seemed to recognize what I needed each day. She is such a joy in our home. She was given the middle name LaRae after my grandma whom I never met. She died when my mom was only 14 years old. I have always thought of my grandma LaRae as my guardian angel, and ironically, Tylee was actually due to be born on her birthday. I am so priviledged to be trusted to raise this amazing daughter of my Heavenly Father's.

On the lighter side... this year Tylee wanted nothing other than a Hannah Montana birthday! I may be crazy, but I think this is a little crazy coming from a 4 year old. But what do we moms do? ... exactly what our kids want of course! (okay not all the time, but this time I did) Anyway, we had a Hannah Montana party and it was way fun! The girls colored their own Hannah pillowcases while the boys worked on model cars. Then we cranked up the music and everyone danced and sang their little hearts out! We had a Hannah pinata and of course a Hannah birthday cake. It was a great day!

Tylee got lots of fun things. Her 2 favorite had to be the Hannah Montana Barbie from Kyson. It sings and talks. The other hit of the day was a card that came in the mail. It was from Grandma and Grandpa in Texas (that is what my kids call them). You will see a small video clip of Tylee with it. Let me just tell you that I am looking forward to the day when both of these "prized" posessions run out of batteries. :)

A wonderful candid moment!... until I got caught! It didn't seem to stop her though.

Can I just say that this was repeated several times over and over that day!!!
