Magical Forest

On Kyson's birthday, we took the kids to the "Magical Forest" here in Las Vegas. We went with Dave and Nancy and their family. The Magical Forest is such a fun place to go during the holidays. It was absolutely freezing!!! In fact I think it was the coldest day up to that point. The kids had a wonderful time however! Taya was covered in her Bundle Me and did not make it in any pictures :(.

Kyson turns 6!!!

On December 20, 2007 Kyson turned 6 years old! He had a birthday party at our house with his friends. We ate pizza, worked on snowman crafts, played holiday bingo, opened gifts, and ate cake! It was so much fun! Kyson is such a special boy! He is such a great big brother! I always wanted a boy first, and he is absolutely the answer to my prayers! He honestly tries to choose the right and has such a special spirit about him. He is very tenderhearted and has got to be the Best sharer ever!!! He is so thoughtful of his parents and his sisters. I love to watch he and the girls play. He is so great at taking care of Taya! He plays so cute with her and always makes her smile. Tylee idolizes Kyson! She does everything he does, even the not so good things. Kyson started kindergarten this year and is doing so great! I know this is a brag session about my son, but I figure I can do that once a year (at least :))! He is such a great reader and it is so much fun to be able to actually read books with him now instead of just to him. He is so creative and has now graduated from drawing pictures to writing letters with pictures to follow. Our bedroom wall is lined with his little notes and pictures from him (hung by himself of course). Kyson is also a little athlete! Being sports fans, both Dave and I were hoping to have children who loved sports too. Kyson is a little natural! He loves soccer and is so good at it! It is so fun to watch him play. He is a little competitive, but finds so much happiness in team work! He loves to see the other kids on his team succeed too. He takes a lot of pride in scoring goals, and almost just as much in making the pass to a teammate so he can score. He will be starting basketball, and I am so excited to see him play! One special experience that I have had with Kyson this year was just recently. We were reading our scriptures one evening about how the Nephites were forgetting Heavenly Father and were not thankful for their blessings anymore. We were talking about how important it is to always thank our Father in Heaven for everything that we have. So I was talking to them about when we say our prayers that it is so important to say thanks for everything before we ask for blessings. Anyway, that night Ky said the prayer and it was FULL of thankfulness, thankful for our home, clothes, the animals, food, Jesus, family, etc.... It was such a special prayer. When he finished he sat up and tears were streaming down his face. I asked what was wrong, and he replied, "Mom, I am not crying because I am sad. I am crying because I am just so happy inside. I have such a good feeling that started in my chest and just moved all the way up to my head!" I was overwhelmed. I explained that he was feeling the Spirit of our Heavenly Father. He was so happy. Ever since that night Ky has talked to Tylee about his feeling and is helping her to be able to "feel it herself someday". I am so blessed to have such a wonderful son! He has such a special place in this world, and I feel so privledged to be his mother. I am so proud of you Kyson! I love you so much! Happy 6th Birthday!!!

Christmas Open House

Tylee

In December, Tylee had her Holiday open house for dance. All of the parents were allowed in the studio to watch them perform. It was so much fun to see her performing! I was only able to see out of one eye however due to the fact that I had a torn cornea, or corneal abrasion. Tylee's fingernail had scratched my eye the night before. It was more pain than I ever want to experience again. I could not miss her open house though because Dave was in California at the time for work. It was great and she is such a cute little dancer!

Thanksgiving 2007

Okay! Okay! I am way behind! But since I am using this as a journal as well as keeping in touch, I have to back track a little! We spent Thanksgiving with Justin and Angie's family in St. George and had a blast! I had to make mom's famous stuffing of course, and I must say I am getting pretty good at it!!! The kids always have so much fun together and the fallen leaves made it even better! I think they were raked up 3 or 4 different times throught the day. Thank heavens Angie is such a good sport because there were leaved brought into the house constantly! We really did have a great time. We did end up leaving a little "earlier" than planned...2:30am to be exact! Poor Tylee has asthma and could not breathe! I had left her nebulizer at home, so thank goodness we were only an hour and a half a way or we would have had yet another trip to the emergency room. All in all it was a great holiday. In fact it is one of my favorite holidays of the year! I love taking the time to really reflect on all of my blessings!
